Covid-19 Challenge
Call terminata in data 31 maggio 2020
Covid-19 Challenge is the Call for Ideas launched in March 2020 in collaboration with Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, to support national policies for:
- Containment and management of the health, economic, and social emergency caused by the SARS-CoV-2 Coronavirus;
- Management of the post-emergency phase;
- Prevention, containment, and management of new epidemiological and health emergencies.
The objective of the Call is to promote technology transfer, development, and implementation of ideas, entrepreneurial solutions, and innovative projects in the healthcare sector and the production system, aiming to ensure business & life continuity.
A key role in the various phases of the acceleration program is played by the Corporate Partners who actively joined the initiative’s promotion (Enel, Cisco, Acea, Tim, FS Technology, Unicredit Start Lab). An especially significant contribution during the scouting phase was provided by ENEL, which made its global crowdsourcing platform, Open Innovability, available.
The 15 projects selected from over 500 submissions gained access to the pre-acceleration phase, during which the technological and business validation process was completed through pilot projects developed within the Corporate partners of our ecosystem.
The new Call for Ideas launched by Marzotto Venture Accelerator and Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, also promoted by Enel and supported by CISCO, FSTechnology, Invitalia, TIM, and UniCredit Start Lab, is aimed at academic spin-offs, innovative startups, SMEs, and, in general, teams or companies with an innovative project or idea to be transformed into a business initiative, capable of concretely supporting the Italian system during the current emergency and in the post-emergency phase.
We are looking for ideas, projects, and solutions that, by leveraging emerging technologies, intervene in the healthcare system, the productive system, and the daily lives of citizens and workers in order to ensure business and life continuity. Proposed solutions, with a horizon that extends into the post-emergency phases, must aim at restoring normality, supporting and revitalizing strategic businesses for the national system, and creating a sustainable and resilient productive and social life framework.
