The Covid-19 Challenge is a Call for Ideas launched in March 2020 with the Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome to support national policies for:

  • Containment and management of the health, economic, and social emergency caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus
  • Management of the post-emergency phase
  • Prevention, containment, and management of new epidemiological and health emergencies.

The aim of the Call is to foster technology transfer, development, and implementation of ideas, business solutions, and innovative projects in the healthcare and manufacturing sectors, with the goal of ensuring business and life continuity. A decisive role in the various phases of the acceleration program is played by the Corporate Partners who actively participated in promoting the initiative (Enel, Cisco, Acea, Tim, FS Technology, Unicredit Start Lab). ENEL, in particular, made an extraordinarily significant contribution during the scouting phase, making its global crowdsourcing platform Open Innovability available. The 15 projects selected from over 500 proposals received have entered the pre-acceleration phase, where the technological and business validation process will be completed through pilot projects developed at the corporate entities in our ecosystem.
